Ten questions, none of them about your job. Every Wednesday we put you on a court with three members worth knowing, and give you one of them as your partner.

You don't pick.
We place you.

Nobody swipes and nobody browses a grid of faces. You answer ten questions about how you actually live, and the club puts you where you fit. The paddle does the rest of the work, because you already have something to do with your hands and a reason to talk.

01 Answer ten questions

About six minutes. None of them are about pickleball, and none of them go on a public profile. They are the questions we'd ask if we were deciding who to seat you next to at a dinner.

02 We build your court

Four people who fit, chosen against your answers and your level. One of the three is named as your partner for the night. You find out before you arrive.

03 Turn up Wednesday

Pickleball Kingdom, 7pm, $10 at the front desk. Grab your name tag, play for two hours, and stay at the bar afterwards. Most of what happens here happens after.

Blue or green.
Your call, every week.

Everyone wears a name tag, and the colour says what you're here for so nobody has to guess and nobody has to ask. You choose yours at the desk, and you can choose differently next week.

Blue

Here for friends. You will never be placed with anyone who came here to date.

Green

Open to dating. Only placed with others open to the same. If you're honestly both, wear the one that's your priority for the night.

What a Wednesday
actually looks like

Same courts, same night, every week. You do not need to know anyone, you do not need to bring anything, and you do not need to be good.

6:45pm
Arrive

Pickleball Kingdom, Lexington. Pay $10 at the front desk, pick up your name tag, find your court number.

7:00pm
Play

Two hours of doubles with the three people you were placed with. Paddles are there if you don't have one.

9:00pm
Stay

The bar stays open after play. This is the part that matters, and it is the reason the club exists rather than just a league.

Turn up

Two no-shows and you lose your place in the rotation. Someone is always waiting.

Play the level, not the person

You were placed with these three on purpose. Beating a beginner 11–0 impresses nobody.

The bar is the point

Two hours on court, then it stays open. Most of what happens here happens after.

Nobody is stuck

Tell us about anyone, any time, and it stays private. You will never be placed with them again.

Merch.
Coming soon.

Caps, tees and crewnecks in the club colours. We're getting the first run right rather than fast. Join the club and you'll hear before anyone else.

Questions

How much is it and how do I pay?

$10, paid directly to Pickleball Kingdom at the front desk on the night. Nothing is charged in advance and we never hold your card.

Where is it?

Pickleball Kingdom, Lexington, Kentucky. Wednesdays at 7pm. Same courts every week.

Do I need my own paddle?

No. Paddles are there and you can borrow one. Bring your own if you have a favourite, but nobody turns up empty-handed and gets stuck.

Do I have to be single?

No. This is for everyone looking to meet new people, whether that's friends or dating. Both are welcome and both are normal here.

What are the name tags for?

Blue means you're looking for friends. Green means you're open to dating. If you're both, wear the one that's your priority for the night.

Do I have to be good?

No. You tell us whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and that's who ends up across the net from you. Beginners are placed with beginners, and plenty of people learn the kitchen rule on their first night.

Will I get the same people every week?

Not usually. The court is rebuilt every week, so you meet new people, though the club is small enough that you'll start recognising faces by week three.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, but they need to answer the ten questions too. Everyone on a court is placed there, so we can't add someone at the door.

Join the club

Leave your name and we'll send you the ten questions and this Wednesday's details. No charge to join. The $10 is paid at the desk on the night.

You must be 18 or older. We'll email you the ten questions and text you your court on Wednesday. Nothing else.
